About us

Our association was founded in the 1930s by professors of the Université de Nancy in order to promote the teaching of French to foreign students. The association is now completely independent of the university on an administrative level.

With over 90 years of experience, our mission has gained an important cultural dimension, and our audience has been widened to every person interested in French language and culture, regardless of status : students, teachers, pupils from primary and secondary schools, working persons, retired persons, etc.

Our French as a Foreign Language programs are strictly in accordance with the CEFR (“Common European Framework of Reference for Languages”, translated in 39 languages) :

These programs have been designed under the authority of our board, which is mainly composed of teachers from the University of Lorraine.
